Sweet, Sweet Spring in Sweet Tooth Lingerie

Spring is here and the amount of times I sneezed during the creation of the blog post was unholy. Still, with the fresh warmth in the air, there is much to celebrate. Kneecaps, sandals, hairy toes dipped in the river water, new internships, sweaty underboob, Claritin- it all calls to be celebrated. Bees flew in my kitchen while taking these pictures! My dog cried the whole time because she wanted to bolt out that door and roll in the dirt! Winter is a frozen cave of hell for me, featuring poor circulation and constant shivering and wayyyy too many clothes. I prefer my clothing to be minimal, and often transparent.
Sweet Tooth Lingerie, a handmade brand based out of New York City, specializes in mesh pieces that can be mixed and matched in a variety of colors. A lot of it is basic bralettes, crop tops, and various panties.  Their brand new Spring 2016 collection features new, less traditional styles, complete with cutouts and ruffles and straps - much of what you see is a lot of trendy lingerie right now, but with a difference: price. It goes without saying that there are several components of price, including quality, markup, labor, etc. Basically, there usually is a reason something is expensive, especially when it comes to lingerie. That being said, we don't all need top-tier lingerie that's going to last us into old age, and we can't all afford it. If you're looking for something a little cuter than basic, something matchy, and something in a good price range, it's here, there, everywhere: and at Sweet Tooth Lingerie.
Both pieces are made of a white polka-dotted mesh, very thin. Where it pulls tight across my bust, the threads of the mesh come apart a bit, which is where the discussion of quality comes in. It holds up today, but this isn't a piece that's going to stick with me to the end of days (and probably not the end of the year). The edges are lined with a nicely patterned elastic, which makes the straps of the bralette as well, making the whole set one that has a lot of flexibility and breathability, for ultimate comfort.  It feels like wearing nothing most of the time.

I purchased the Sheer High Neck Bralette and the Sheer High Waisted Panties, both in a Medium. My friends are always getting on my ass about wearing the wrong size panties so here you go: I'm finally buying my true size!
I found Sweet Tooth's chart to be pretty generous, which probably has to do with the amount of give their product has between all that mesh and elastic. I'm not sure where my ever-changing bust is at these days, but I estimate it's around 37", which puts me smack in the middle of the medium range. I'll usually size down with bralettes just to make sure that underbust can grab hold on me, but I already felt I was (there's no way in Hell I'm a small). The medium works well for me, with enough give to layer a bra underneath, but enough tension to give me a teeny tiny bit of compression without one. The elastic bottom of the crop top does tend to come up to the sweet fold between my breast and belly, but that's part of the delicacies and joys of a soft body and short torso, and doesn't really bother me. It happens a lot less when I layer this piece over a bra, as the bra reduces the movement and pull beneath/on the fabric.

With my waist weighing in at a solid 30.5", I'm on the very edge of the lower part of Sweet Tooth's medium, and since I evidently like my panties on the big side, I loved the fit on this pair. The elastic has a good amount of give on it while still staying in place, and isn't tight enough to cut into the crevice where my leg and my snatch meet. They also hit at my natural waist for once, which is hard when your torso is literally just a hacked off stump. The mesh is a little loose on me, as can be seen in the photos, and tends to wrinkle when I move or twist. I don't much mind that though. They are light, and lined with a cotton gusset. Basically, these panties are gravy. I've been trying to beef up my inventory of mesh panties.

Cuteness, comfort and matching all at a great price? I'll be getting a lot of use out of this set this summer, I predict. I'm very into crop tops right now, and have been sweatin in the gym to make myself more comfortable in them in preparation for when it finally heats up. I see this top layered over a bra, with these panties beneath a skirt, over and over again.
